The Popular Show Campaign 4 Reveals the Fighters Group

From the very beginning of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master the talented storyteller has kept viewers on edge with deep backstory, a colorful mix of personalities, and a thrilling plot featuring angels, fiends, and sinister influences growing in influence within Dol-Makjar.

Heads-up: Spoilers for the latest installment of the new season lie ahead.

The Soldiers Table Unveiled

The latest chapter ended with a huge suspense moment and introduced the initial group of characters who will split off from the central cast to undertake their independent quest, separate from the other two tables.

The Soldiers table includes Teor Pridesire (brought to life by Travis), Thimble (Laura Bailey), the fierce warrior (Whitney Moore), Wicander Halovar (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan (Robbie).

Dividing the Cast

With a large ensemble, it was clear from the start that maintaining everyone at a single group would be unworkable.

Hence, the first four episodes of Campaign 4 serve as an Prelude, weaving together the individual narratives before dividing into three separate parties: Soldiers, Schemers, and Seekers.

What Defines the Soldiers Table

As described by the Dungeon Master, the Soldiers table is for participants who enjoy a classically intense battle-oriented story mode where diplomatic options are few and far between.

At first glance, characters like the reluctant priest the cleric might look mismatched, but the developments of the third episode show why these specific adventurers are perfectly fit for the Soldiers table.

Reasons to Leave

First, the group knows exactly where to proceed after a brutal first encounter with the antagonists.

An old friend of Thjazi—whose demise started the campaign’s events—exploited the enemy for his selfish purposes, breaking into the secret base, assaulting the rogue, and taking all the powerful objects to auction.

The traitor then settled his debts and ran away to a secure base in the remote area, north of the city, with Teor’s brother pursuing him.

Personal Motivations

Secondly, each character has a specific drive to exit the metropolitan area:

  • The rogue, as Thjazi’s partner and trusted friend, seeks revenge.
  • The knowledgeable figure knows the region and advises that it is a nasty place.
  • The strong character and The cleric, having defied his family’s wishes to eliminate Teor and instead freed him, have nowhere else to go.
  • But, their position as key figures in House Halovar could assist the party reach areas they typically wouldn’t be able to.
  • Furthermore, Teor swore a unbreakable promise to The cleric for his rescue and will now accompany him everywhere.

Pursued by Authorities

Lastly, all of them are hunted by the authorities that control the city for a variety of reasons, making lingering locally no longer safe:

  • The rogue and The character are notorious outlaws.
  • The strong figure and The healer defied House Halovar and the army of fiends they are aligned with.
  • The fighter is wanted dead by House Halovar.

This leaves them few options but to head to Timmony in search of the traitor.

Future Episodes

From the recent installment’s post-show segment, we learn that the warrior group won’t be around in the upcoming installment, leaving the rest of the players to assemble the Explorers and Strategists parties.

Fans can look forward to finding out which characters will be in which group in Campaign 4’s concluding setup installment, released on the upcoming Thursday.
